Building a better future

Our maternity service has received money from the government to improve facilitieson our labour wards.

We are building ensuite wet rooms into all our birthing rooms to improve privacy andenhance the quality of your stay.

Building Works at PRH

Building work is due to start in July on our labour ward at the Princess Royal Hospital. This refurbishment will involve the delivery rooms and we forsee two rooms being out of action for up to three weeks. At the end of this building work the six birthing rooms that we have on the labour ward will all have en-suite facilities.

There will obviously be some noise and disruption and it will mean we lose some capacity whilst the work is in progress. We will try and minimise this as much as possible but it may mean that some elective work will move to the Royal Sussex County Hospital and daily liaising around workload and flexibility will be monitored.

If you have any further queries please speak to the labour ward co-ordinator.
